| Jim Wheeler |
| Jim Wheeler has worked as a park ranger at Redwood National and State Parks for over 19 years. He received a bachelor's degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a master's degree in Environmental Education from Humboldt State University in Arcata. Acting as a liaison for the parks with the Yurok and Tolowa Indian tribes of northwestern California, Jim has gained insight into native American traditional stories now recognized as oral histories of the last significant Cascadia Subduction event. Following the 1992 earthquake in Humboldt County, CA, Jim began a series of campfire talks in park campgrounds to emphasize the potential hazards of the next large earthquake and tsunami. |
